Breeding system, genetics, stats, etc.

OK, if you're wondering why I haven't posted anything in this board for a few days, it's because I was trying to come up with a decent breeding system plan for my site. ^^

Breeding system: since the breeding system will be more advanced than other breeding sim sites, we'll all need to pitch in and come up with ways on how it will be more advanced. If they sound good, I will approve your ideas. ^^ If they don't, I'll just put 'Not approved' if you have more than one idea, put each idea in a seperate paragraph with the beginnings of 'Idea 1,' 'Idea 2,' etc. And I will put something like 'Idea 1 = approved' 'Idea 2= not approved' or something of the sort. Now what I have so far for a breeding system is what one of the coders (I forgot which one it was) on this site gave me for the horse sim they came up with. If you can come up with any sorts of adjustments to make it More advanced, better looking, more complicated but educational, whatever, throw in all your ideas! Now the last thing I wanted to cover on this topic was that we need to come up with more genetics and such, what I have so far for genetics doesn't follow any guidelines for genetics, but that's why this site will be different, it won't follow any certain guidelines. ^^ Just throw in whatever genetic you think would be cool and the genotype pair and/or combination for it. ^^

Ex.: Ok, let's say that there are 3 breeds of dragons. You said that you can have up to a 3 breed cross breed. So make a cross breed of 1 part(p) dragon breed(db)1 and 1p db2. then make that dragon breed with db3, so draw up a dragon that is 1/2p db1, 1/2p db2, and 1p db3. then make a 1 1/2p db1, and 1p db2. then, 1/2p db1 and 1 1/2p db2, etc until you have all combos. It would take a while, but eventually you'll have it all, as well as many people wanting to play :-D

Hehe, I think it was me who offered the horse breeding script. I no remember! If it's someone else though, I wanna talk to them and compare notes! ^^

Anyway. Coming up with good genetics is hard.
I think the stats you have is good though. ^^

Just for the record, I disagree with inheriting them Horseland style >
I think they should be determined by genetics, with Dracos having both good and bad genes. Kinda like how Furry Paws has both good and bad health scores, only translated to numbers. That way it'll be harder to get good animals, you can't just raise the stats and have good kids, you also have to hope you pair up with a good mate for more good genes than bad!

Hajinc and Stockhorsecorp have something like this, though unlike at Furry Paws you don't get to see your horse's genes (which makes it 100x harder!) except for their color.

I don't really have any good suggestions right now, I'll think about it.

Well star1bandit, I believe the main plan for the mixed bred dragons was to have them pieced together. Inherit the head of the father, wings of the mother, etc.

So it'd be kinda hard to get duplicates without careful breeding, which admittedly won't be possible as Z wants the crosses to be limited to only certain blood percentages.

I'll have an example script soon, I haven't been home all week. It's pretty easy to code, so shouldn't be long in coming.
