If Everyone Cared, and Nobody Cried
By: J. B. Beebe
A Note from the Author:
This book is about creatures you may never have heard of. This story follows the relationships, trials, life, victories and losses of Axel Van Deriz, a young Draco-Sapien champion with lots of ambition, and no discipline to wield it powerfully.
For those who don’t know:
A Draco-sapien is a cross-breed between a Weredragon and a human. Wild Dracos live in places like the forest, or a desert, or the plains, or even the tundra, some Dracos even took a liking to living in old, abandoned human settlements like The Ghetto. Tamed Dracos live amongst their human companions. In stables, in their homes, or even out in the backyard as somewhat humanized canines would. Tamed Dracos have a very sweet disposition, and are normally very good natured. Whereas wild Draco-sapiens are somewhat vicious, and would attack for the slightest reason. Thereby, it is difficult to understand how anyone can obtain the career of being a Draco-hunter or Draco-poacher. Draco-sapiens have 3 forms: human, halfway, and dragon forms
And finally: the differences between Draco-hunters and slayers and Draco-poachers
Draco-hunters: Draco-hunters are often revered as heroes among Draco-tamers. Why? Because, Draco-hunters do not harm the Dracos they catch, but instead sell it to the highest bidding Draco-seller, the Draco-seller than deals the newly bought Draco to a stable or trainer, or other type of Draco owner that would take it in.
Draco-slayers: Draco-slayers are the ‘Legal’ version of Draco-poachers. In the unlikely event that someone has a problem with any of their Dracos, Draco-slayers are paid to ‘Put down’ the Draco in a humane way. Such being: a humane shot that simply stops their heart and shuts down their brain, no mess, no pain.
Draco-poachers: Draco-poachers are a more ‘illegal’ version of Draco-slayers. They hunt Dracos to kill, weather paid to or not. There’s bound to be a mess, there’s bound to be pain on the Draco’s part.
A final note: This Book is for the enjoyment of Adults with a loneliness problem. But can also be for teenagers with perverted minds. I certainly hope you enjoy this book, thank you, good night.

Axel Van Deriz
In the year 3250 of the second ‘life run’ of our new home: Planet Draconia. The world is a beautiful place, the vegetation, unlike that of earth, is a light blue in color, the waters are a deep amethyst purple, and the ground is as red as blood, the dust is gray tinged with orange and red hue. Thus, on a dusty road, when you run, it leaves a metallic ruby colored cloud behind you.
The fruits of the world are in great numbers, as is the meat. The fruit that was found by nature on this planet, are a different variety than the ones you are used to: the fruits that resemble blue bananas have a slightly crisper, juicier texture than that of a pear, and you can eat the skin as if it were the skin of an apple. These ‘banana-like’ things, we Dracos call ‘Cordus’ as for the yellow, red striped pear-like things, they are called ‘Guadoes’ it is interesting, because these two fruits are found in great numbers throughout the planet, often in bunches, such as the Cordus, or hanging on solitary branches or in great clusters depending on the maturity rate of the fruit, like the Guadoes.
The meat on this planet come from other animals that we hunt. Some of the animals we have domesticated like you would with cattle or other meat-animals. We call these meat animals a variety of names depending on their species, much like you would. The creatures resembling large sheep with six horns on the males head, and two on the females are called ‘Guttos’ as for our cattle, they resemble great pigs with horns that you can either milk or kill for meat. We can get a great amount of meat and milk from both creatures. And thus, when humans came to our planet, they asked us toteach them about the foods, which were edible, which were poisonous, and so on. We told them of our meats and fruits. And in return, they asked if we would allow them to tame a certain few of us. A small number agreed, while others wanted to remain wild. And so it was agreed, that whatever human could capture us, could have us. And so it has been for the last 40 generations of humans. When they finally managed to capoture some of us, they began to train us as though we were their pets. Herding their animals, showing off in their competitions, or even as gigantic lapdogs of sorts.
Until, when chance came, a young Buck, named Alexander Van Deriz, chose to breed with me, Sasha Van Tarro. When we bred, we produced ten healthy eggs, 9 of them were sold soon after hatching and being able to eat solid food. I and Alexander were heartbroken to see our children sold off for the humans’ competing and mindless works.
However, the egg that remained with us, hatched soon after the others were sold, we could tell he was very gifted. We knew because he was competitive. We knew because he was fast and strong. We knew… because we knew. How we knew we did not know, but we knew he was destined for greatness.
We named him Axel, a sweet enough young buck in his own way. When he hit the age of maturity, 10 Draco-sapien years, he was sold to a family called the ‘Alexanders’ The young boy who got him, Matthew Alexander, was indeed a great owner, we knew because we had gotten to know the boy before we gave Axel to him. He was a kind, and gentle boy, he said that he would train Axel to his greatest potential. We knew Axel was in good, capable hands. And so, we gave him to Matthew. And we have not seen him since. But one day, several years later, we saw him on a Draco-Sapien show competition channel. Matthew and Axel were strutting about the winner’s circle, and the announcer was shouting “Ladies and gentlemen, In all of my years in Draco show judging I have never seen this: A rookie as the champion of the year!”
We knew in that moment, our instincts had been correct, our beloved Axel, our most cherished treasure, had reached his full potential. He was a champion. Femmes would line up for miles around to breed with him, but they would wait until he was 20 before they bred him for the first time. The only sad thing about this: he would never know love or friendship, he would only know how to compete and breed. All the same, we were proud, that even a child of ours, with the slightest amount of courage, could turn the tides of war.
